“I can lie in the sun all day.”

The sun is back.

The day after a good walk, I’m usually a bit tired and like to sleep more than usual, which means most of the day. The last few days without rain have been fun, but I think I got out of shape after spending so much time indoors with short walks between showers. We did see a rainbow the other day and since then the weather is sunny and starting to warm up.

Photo of me lying on the porch, glowing in sunshine.
The sun feels so warm on my body.

After breakfast, I like to lie in the sun and soak up the heat. I can snooze away and the dreams can be quite energetic. I love chase dreams even though I never catch up as I startle myself awake like that time I ran into a squirrel at the park. I mean, slammed him with my chest and sent him sprawling over the blacktop, we both looked at each other, then all I saw was his tail slipping into the earth.

I pounced at the hole and got a full whiff of furry delicioso. Oh yeah, I can taste it here lying in the sun on the back porch, I roll onto my belly and look out over the water. The noisy terns are back so I watch them circle around shreaking before one dives face first into water and pops up with a little fish in it’s beak. The black and white bird flips it’s orange beak and the head of the fish slides down into the bird’s crop. The tern lifts into the air and joins the flying racket. I roll back on my side and drift into dreams of birds flying.
