“I can lie in the sun all day.”

The Dude!

I love going to the park in the late afternoon. There are usually several friends including my buddy The Dude. He’s a bit bigger than me and tried to dominate when we first met, but I wasn’t having it. I let him know that there is no way he is dominant.

Anyway, we worked it out and now we give each other a good chest bump when we meet and then play for a bit. If Izzy is there she will take over. Most days she’s not there and Zilla likes to just chill.

We take a loop around the trail sniffing and checking things out. I sniffed a tree then lifted a leg spotting the bark. The Dude followed suit on the same spot and we moved over to a new set of smells along the way.

Along came a young Maltipoo followed by Izzy. The Dude moved in and let the little one know where he stands in the pecking order.

A pause in the action

The young Maltipoo sniffed me and took off running, which got Izzy going and away they ran across the field and back. I bumped The Dude and we both gave chase. The young dog stopped and rolled when Izzy dove into a tackle.

The Dude moved in and they all stopped and stared at each other. There was a pause and the birds chirped. Izzy yipped and took off running chased by the new dog. The Dude and I just stood there and watched until we heard the sound of a plastic bag rustle near our companions. Snack time. I hope it’s pepperoni.
