“I can lie in the sun all day.”

Keep your shots up to date!

The other day, we were coming out of the Pet Store. I love pet stores. There’s other dogs, lots of food smells, squeaky toys, and always a snack when we check out. There were several big dogs and I can get aggressive toward them, especially big males. This day, I snapped at a lab and Johnnie was not too happy. He apologized with the excuse, “Tight leashes lead to aggression.” There may be something to this. I don’t know, I’m just a dog.

I get my shots regularly.

After the snack, we walked out to the car and there was a little puppy running toward me. The owner pulled the puppy’s leash to keep her back and said, “She hasn’t had her shots yet.”

Johnnie understood and kept me away. I don’t like puppies much as they have way too much energy and big dog puppies have big paws they can swat you with. Anyway, when we got into the car. Johnnie told me to stay away from puppies who don’t have their shots as I may be a carrier and could expose the puppy to something that could infect the puppy. I don’t understand, if I had my shots, how can I be a carrier. Maybe it’s on my body or in my hair.

It’s always safe to be cautious, which means if your puppy hasn’t had her shots yet, keep her away from other dogs, as you don’t know if the other dog had its shots. Some humans are neglectful or cheap or maybe just don’t know any better. To all you humans who have a canine companion, make sure we get our shots regularly. Some diseases can really hurt us, and others will shorten our lives. We give you unconditional love, so please, make sure we have all of our shots.
