Mim

My good friend Mim is a double doodle, half labradoodle/ half goldendoodle who is the faithful companion of Josh. Now, a friend of Josh went to Washington State to get a Service dog for another friend, did I mention that Josh and his friend are both Veterans of Foreign Wars, having served in the middle east conflicts. Now when Josh’s friend was in Washington, she picked up a service dog for the other friend and Mim was available for free because she wasn’t the preferred designer dog. What an insult, she is a beautiful golden, Labrador poodle mix with floppy ears, a long tail, poodle body and parts of the face, and short thick fur.
Since she is a mixture of poodle, golden retriever and Labrador retriever, you would think that she loves water, but NOOOO. She is terrified of water. She can tolerate a puddle, but water like a lake, the ocean or a river, my goodness, get her out of there.
As a mutt from the lineage of hunting dogs, Mim is comfortable around guns and fireworks or anything that goes boom. I hate boom, where’s Johnnie. Anyway, Mim loves squirrels, I mean who doesn’t love squirrels. She has a long memory for the recently seen squirrel and will check out the base of trees, open burrows, and other locations where one was recently encountered.
She and Josh and Johnnie were visiting a ranch one day and there were chickens running around free range. Unfortunately, she ran after and took one out by mistake. I mean, she didn’t know and she was just playing. When Josh called her on it, she acted like nothing happened but didn’t do it again. Although she still gives a good chase, just for the fun of it.
Now doubledoodles make great service dogs as all of their lineages are good around people, are highly trainable and loyal. Mim actually has a job. She needs to stay with Josh so that he can stay calm at work and around situations that make him anxious. Offices can be quite confining and dismal at times. But Mim is a bundle of joy, getting lots of love from coworkers and giving lots of love in return.
