I love snow!

I remember when I was still a puppy, we would go the mountains where it was cold with lot’s of snow. Sometimes the cold is down there pretty low and thankfully Johnnie sets me up with his down sleeping bag. It smells just like him.
Snow is the best, running around chasing snowballs , sticks, Joanna, it’s all fun. Sometimes the snow is fluffy. Not this day, the snow seemed frozen on top. A little bit crunchy underpaw.

I was still young and had to stay on leash lest I take off after some furry critter. Large or small. Well that leash can really get in the way when I am trying to play in the snow. Sometimes, like the time I’m telling you about, I go for this branch and try to run, but it doesn’t move and I get my leashed wrapped around it. I try to chew my way out. Finally Johnnie stops laughing and untangles the mess and we head off to the next adventure.
A pile of aging poop. Intestine degraded fur from some little thing. Maybe a mouse or vole. Or it could be one of my favorites, pocket gophers. I could really dig my nose into one of those holes. With the ground covered in snow, how did this hunter find a pocket gopher, or a mouse even. I don’t smell much. Maybe a little squirrel. Mostly things are frozen and I don’t have a sweater on and the temperature seems to be dropping on this cold day. So, it’s time for a snack and then a nice long nap.
